Manşonul fără nod, cunoscută şi ca not´a´knot este un accesoriu excelent pentru îmbinarea firului sau a aţei cu montura (de ex cu vârtej, cârlig sau agrafă...). Datorită formei unice, treceţi elementul cerut peste parte care aminteşte de un cârlig, faceţi o buclă pe fir, înfăşuraţi de 5x în jurul corpului buclei şi treceţi prin capăt, unde firul calcă strâns. După aceea strângeţi. În acest fel creaţi o îmbinare extrem de rezistentă fără nudul care ar diminua portanţa firului sau a aţei.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
