Inspirat de faimosul model creat de Hans Van Klinken in 1984, Klinkhammer s-a dovedit a fi una dintre cele mai eficiente muste din istorie, fiind apreciata pentru versatilitatea si succesul sau constant. Initial gandit pentru a imita un caddis in dezvoltare, acest model are o structura care il face eficient si pentru multe alte tipuri de muste, avand o atractie deosebita asupra pradatorilor din ape rapide si turbulente.
Un aspect deosebit al acestui model consta in designul sau ingenios, cu corpul care sta jos in apa, iar parasuta care mentine musca pe linia de plutire, chiar si in conditii de apa rapida. Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
