"E" adăugat în denumirea sa, se referă la "echivalent". Tip E este la fel de rotund și durabil ca și firele Tip R.
Diferența principală:
- fibrele UHMWPE sunt împletite în mai multe fire, comparativ cu Tip R,
de exemplu. Astfel, se obține oi suprafață mai uniformă, cu dimensiune
redusă. Calitatea suprafeței atinge niveluri, mult superioare firelor
împletite 8X comparabile. Netezimea și uniformitatea sa au fost obținute
prin îmbunătățirea tehnicilor de împletire aplicate cu fire de tip R,
și nu prin "îmbinare" sau "acoperire". O metodă adesea aplicată de alți
producători. Ca urmare, acest fir este mai silențios la aruncări.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
