Folosirea monofilamentului in pescuitul rapitorilor ramane o practica pe care niciun pasionat de spinning sau baitcasting nu trebuie sa o uite. Exista numeroase situatii in care finetea, elasticitatea si invizibilitatea monofilamentului poate influenta rezultatul unei partide de pescuit la rapitori.
Desi este stiut faptul ca, spre exemplu, in pescuitul pe lac la pastrav, monofilamentul este obligatoriu, imaginati-va ca localnicii stiucari din Delta Dunarii pescuiesc in continuare cu succes aproape exclusiv cu monofilamente. Explicatia nu consta in pretul redus comparativ cu firele textile, ci pentru ca firul mono are cateva avantaje pe care textilul nu le va putea compensa niciodata.
Mai mult, exista specii de pesti precum avatul sau salaul, care au un simt al culorii extrem de bine dezvoltat. Bineinteles, corelarea cu diametrul corect este importanta, mai ales cand avem o idee de talia medie a pestilor la care vom pescui.
Wizard MXT este un fir cu camasa superioara din teflon care faciliteaza lanseuri mai lungi si reduc fortele de frecare ce apar la contactul cu pastilele inelelor.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
