Daca esti pescar de rapitor si pasionat de pescuitul exclusiv cu fire textile, trebuie sa stii ca exista situatii in care folosirea monofilamentului este mai mult decat importanta. Ceea ce niciodata nu va putea compensa o lanseta parabolica sau o frana reglata corect este evadarea furibunda a unui peste in dril iar elasticitatea monofilamentului are un avantaj net superior in aceste situatii.
Exista specii de pesti care pur si simplu nu pot fi pescuite (sau pot fi pescuite rar) cu fir textil. Intre ele, cel mai important de mentionat este pastravul. Viteza evadarilor, violenta si rapiditatea atacului vor putea fi compensate numai prin elasticitatea unui fir monofilament.
Dar tineti seama si de culoare. Spre deosebire de textil, care este mult mai usor sesizabil in apa, monofilamentul transparent se pierde imediat in culorile subacvatice. Pesti cu simturi vizuale ascutite, precum avatul, salaul si stiuca, trebuie abordati si cu aceste fire.
Bineinteles, monofilamentul nu retine niciodata apa, ceea ce este un alt avantaj net fata de majoritatea firelor textile.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
