Design barbless (fara spin) rezolva rapid problemele legate de incurcarea in plasa minciogului si haine, care apar adesea la pescuitul de munte, reducand stresul in timpul pescuitului. Varful usor curbat gandit cu un unghi de atac mic si un varf usor curbat pentru a creste sansele de a prinde prezentarile superficiale de la pastravul de munte. In plus, varful orientat spre interior reduce contactul cu pietrele si rocile, reducand uzura varfului carligului. Design cu tija scurta permite varfului carligului sa se apropie de naluca, crescand viteza de intepare.
De asemenea, reduce incurcarea carligelor atunci cand echipeaza nalucile de dimensiuni mici. Designul cu tija scurta si varful lung contribuie la imbunatatirea ratelor de intepare. Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
